Going Emerald
The Importance of Achieving Emerald: Huge Milestone to Grow YOUR Business
Less than 1% achieve Emerald status during their first 30-days, but this should be the goal!
By following the New Coach Bootcamp, working on your 3 vital behaviors (being a product of the product, sharing/inviting, and personal development), and following the suggestions listed below, you can do this and so can your future coaches!
Going Emerald and help your personally sponsored coaches advance in rank will help you build a sustainable business! So, you ask: WHY should I become an Emerald coach?
5 Reasons to Shoot for the Rank Advancement of Emerald:
-
Customer Program – Wouldn’t be nice if you had people that are ready to change??? These customers that Beachbody will give you for FREE might even already have a workout, clearly have goals, and have decided to make a change! Where do they come from? They either purchased from an infomercial or the general Beachbody website. They have been asked if they want a free coach and that is where you come in! These people are part of the cycle of success and have the potential to become great coaches!
-
Eligible for Team Bonuses – What is this? It is the bonus you receive as a reward of growing your team with coaches that are building their business too. It begins when you are an Emerald coach and it is where the majority of you pay will come from as you build your team.
-
Earning Income to Pay for Your Own Shakeology – Wouldn’t it be great to no longer need to spend money on your own supply of Shakeology? The more people you are reaching and the more customers you receive, the sooner your shakes will be “free.” You receive a 25% discount as a coach, so you just need to find/know three other people that love or will love the shakes as much as you and you will have earned the commission to pay for your shakes.
-
You Can Get Your Feet Wet Helping People – using the assigned customers, you can work with your upline and invite them to your own challenge groups.
-
Demonstrates Some Success to those that are Watching YOU! – When your upline gives you a shout out to recognize you for ranking up, that attracts people to you! People are drawn to people that are achieving success and believe me... there are a lot of people watching!
How to Get to Emerald:
-
A great goal is to get there by day 30! However, if you are passed your 30 days in the business (start your 30 days over TODAY!)
-
You need 2 active coaches (One on the right leg and the other on the left) and the easiest way to satisfy that is for them to be on Shakeology (90 PV) is clearly more than the 50 PV that is required to be active.
-
Look for people that are already working out with or without a Beachbody program. The conversation can go something like this: “YOU have a workout, cool! You can improve your results with Shakeology!” By finding people that are using the programs (p90x, Insanity...) and explain to them that 70% of the results are nutrition based. Then explain that: “Shakeology is a premium product with lots of nutrients. It’s not a cheap shake, it’s about $4 a meal.” Then they say, I easily spend that on lunch already OR I can swing that ; ) Then you can help them to become a coach, even if it is a discount coach at first.
-
A great option is to ask a family member to be the top of one of your legs (spouse, parent, sibling). Speaking from the heart will help with this. “I know that your health is important to you, it’s important to me! I want you to be around for a long time and this will help. I want to share something with you... it’s Shakeology... it’s amazing! I am looking for my first two coaches to advance to Emerald. You can get a meal replacement for less than $4 a day. I will help you get the discount, improve your health, and get the best nutrition and it will help me rank advance.”
-
Always be open with how you benefit from being a coach with friends and family, they want to see you succeed and will be more willing to support you!
-
Another option is to order a box of packets under a family member and sell the packets for challenges or share as samples each month.
Keep in mind, the road to Emerald may take longer than 30 days, that’s ok... you are in the majority. But I believe you can do it from today moving forward!!!
Following these steps, you can do it!!! It’s possible!!!
Your WHY as a COACH:
Welcome to the NEW COACH EARNING EMERALD Training. When we run our challenges, one of the first things we ask each challenger is what is their WHY. Why do they want to try Shakeology? Why are they wanting to lose weight or inches? What is their main focus for getting healthy? So that is what we are going to ask you... Why did you sign up as a Beachbody Coach? Was it because you wanted your shakes at a discount? Maybe you’re looking to earn another income? Whatever your WHY, it’s important, and it’s going to be your driving force for success in the future. Please share your initial thoughts with your personally sponsored coach because we will revisit this soon!
How do I “find” a COACH:
Now you might be asking “how do I find coaches?” And that’s a great question! How many of you have challengers taking part in a Shakeology challenge right now? Do you notice anything special about these challengers? Are they outgoing? Are they sharing their progress/concerns? Are they seeing results? Have they expressed interest in making more money at all? If so, these are your future coaches! A challenger may have objections to coaching, such as, “I feel like I need to be more skinny, or more fit to be a coach.” The response, “You couldn’t be more wrong! If you’re drinking the shakes and liking them, why wouldn’t you want to share that with those you know and love, and those you truly believe can benefit from them, just like you?” Many coaches are not yet at their goal weight, nor the fittest they can be, but they are loving this journey and want to take others along the journey with them! Other objections may be “Well, I’m not a sales person.” As coaches we can reply, “Guess What? I don’t feel like I’m a sales person at all. I feel like I’m a person that shares success stories. FACTS TELL, STORIES SELL!” One of best pieces of advice for new coaches is this: A lot of people don’t even want to hear your own personal success story because they think “oh they’re just trying to sell me something.” What they are more interested in is the success stories of others. So when people post their before and after pictures, or pictures of the numbers going down on the scale, SHARE THOSE PHOTOS! Get people interested, grab their attention with a shocking, amazing success story.
Helpful Messages from YOUR Upline Coaches:
1. Getting Rid of Your Excuses: Give yourself a clean slate and stop running the self-doubt and negative talk through your head like a bad movie of all the reasons why you won’t succeed! Try writing down a list of these negative thoughts... small town, small kids at home, no time, ... this is a list of sabotaging views. Recognize them for what they are and stop letting them hold you hostage. Keep this excuses list and when the doubts creep in, go back to list, acknowledge them for what they are: worthless excuses that waste your time, your potential, and they are lies that are holding you back from who you are meant to be. Then get back to work pursuing your goals and literally let go of those excuses : )
* Go to your list of excuses (minimum of 5) and really think about who you have avoided inviting to a challenge or to the coaching opportunity because of your own fears and ego. Those who you know would benefit greatly from what you have to offer but you have failed to share with. Write those names down (a minimum of 25) and commit to reaching out to them this week.
2. Find the Confident YOU: Success comes with a gradual increase in confidence in the products as well as the earning potential. When you first start out, it is natural to get butterflies and have real fears about rejection or saying something stupid. Believe me... I wanted a big eraser to come down on me and take me out of the situation that I created with my first share... I was all over the place and it was not pretty! You can succumb to your fears and back off or you can proceed head on knowing that nothing but good can come of stepping out of your comfort zone- that includes complete failure. I can laugh at it now and here are a few tips that will help:
- Share your story and share it often!!! Facts tell and STORIES SELL! Even if you are a brand new coach, you still have a story... your own fitness and health and how you have changed by using the Beachbody fitness programs and Shakeology (let’s not forget the stories of your team of coaches are also your stories too!). Be a story collector!!!
- Fake your confidence in the beginning until it becomes real. What did she just say???? Ha! Yes, this is possible. Make a list of things you do know, speak with authority (avoid words like: maybe, would love it, might). Remember, that we can see potential in others often before they see it in themselves!!! Don’t let this disappoint you (just had a coach sign up this week and I knew she would make a great coach a year ago!)... your heart will be in the right place and you can’t ask for more than that!
- Have conviction! People will share what you are doing when they can feel your passion. If you lead with your heart, no one will receive you negatively. Your heart is the biggest asset you will have in this business. Building relationships and having a genuine interest in people is becoming the best coach you can be. All you need to do is shut your mouth and LISTEN! Listen to what they need and share your story! As strange as that sounds that’s all you need to do in this business. Let people see how your life has changed not that you just purchased a product and that it can do the same for them. Saying things like, “I know this will help you (insert goal here)” is way better than “Let’s try it and maybe...” The fear of rejection hast to do with our own ego and nothing to do with the person with whom we are afraid to share. Lead wit your heart and have confidence in the power of this opportunity from both a challenger and coach perspective!
*Watch Sommer Tuckers’s speech from Summit... talk about stepping outside your comfort zone and leading with your heart (warning: may need tissues!!!):
3. The Importance of Your WHY: Think deep and then go a little deeper!!! Your WHY for your business has to be much bigger than you! It is only then that you will no longer feel like this business is a calling; you will begin to feel the burning desire to reach your goals. Failure is not an option when your WHY is big enough! Ask your upline to help you discover yours.
*Make a YouTube video with your WHY and post it for the team... scary for most, but worth it!!! : )
4. The Importance of Being Teachable: Success leaves clues! Learn to be a sponge and open to learning from others. Those that really struggle in this business all leads back to this... they are simply not teachable. Successful coaches are thirsty for knowledge and learning. It comes down to this. If you value learning you will plug into the team calls, the National Wake-Up Calls, and all the resources that are there for you. Lastly, ASK QUESTIONS!!! Don’t let yourself get frustrated searching for answers... we are all here to support you!
*Set a reminder for the National Wake Up Call and team calls and tune in each week! (Click here for info on how to dial in on the National Wakeup Call)
5. Know and Grow Yourself Through Personal Development: PD is part of the 3 Vital Behaviors (inviting, PD, and product of the product) of this business. I owe my growth to personal development. We all have room for improvements and learning new ways but it won’t happen overnight. We have to be the "slow and steady". This is important because while being the slow and steady with the 3 vital behaviors will build an awesome solid foundation for your business. Doing them consistently, Day in and day out. This will lead you to success. Take your time and build that awesome foundation. Commit to opening your book daily and over time you will see the changes that you may have thought you didn’t need to change. *See our Professional Development section for book suggestions!
*Select a book and order today then promise yourself that you will give this business at least 12 months! My mother always told me that I can do anything for a year... and it is true!!! Be the tortoise... slow and steady!
6. Finding a Success/Push Partner: What is a Success Partner? Why do you need one? A Success partner is a person that has a similar Why and Vision for their business as you do. They are somebody that holds you accountable, keeps you on track and continues to push you to your full potential. Not everyone will make a good fit together due to personality conflicts, different visions for their business and may not push you enough. You actually might even have a few partners as you move through this business and that is OK!!!
*Ask for help for finding your perfect match.
7. It’s Not About YOU!: Many coaches worry that they will feel salesy when they invite people to join a challenge. BUT, this isn't about sales but about really adding VALUE to people’s lives! This business revolves around relationships and people, people with families, feelings, and beating hearts. It's NOT about a product or your agenda. It's about THEM! Keep this in mind when you are nervous about sending an invite. Yes, fear of rejection has to do with you and your ego. We are literally saving friendships, marriages, and lives with the work we do... wrap your head around that!!! Put the focus on their goals and their needs and share with them in a genuine and heartfelt way and you won’t be received wrongly.

8. The Art of Forming: “Shut your mouth and open your ears. God gave us two ears and only one mouth for that reason” ; ) –Traci Morrow As coaches we are changing and saving lives in a business based on relationships. We have to get the focus off the products to truly wanting to find their needs and helping them reach their goals. LEAD WITH THE RELATIONSHIP and find out ABOUT THEM and REALLY LISTEN.
FORMing is how we really start building a relationship with someone and getting to know them: Family-Ask are they married? Do they have kids? What are their ages? What do you like to do? Where do you live? Occupation-What is your job? How long have you done that job? Do they like/dislike it? Recreation-What do you do for fun? Who do you like to to hang out with? Message- SHARE THE MESSAGE YOU HAVE FOR THEM.
* Find and start FORMing the relationships with two NEW people today!
9. Inviting: There are many ways you can go about this vital behavior. Many coaches on our team start with inviting close friends and family to their first challenge. Then from there they invite through a Facebook Event.
10. How do I establish a relationship, invite, and lock into a challenge group? – This was taken from our team call: “Well, for starters, you will be doing a lot of what is laid out for you in Tommy Mygrant's 5-Step Beachbody Challenge™ Group Invitation. The first time I posted that I was coaching and shared the perks of what shakeology and insanity were doing for me, I had lots of friends and family wanting to do what I was doing. I didn’t realize at the time that I was just sharing and being a product of the product from the very start, but it was clear (now looking back) that it works! I had challenge groups (for 7-day challenges) of around 20 people for several months in a row (one was even over 40... that was crazy!) However, the problem was upgrading them to a program and or coaching. It wasn’t until I learned some keys strategies that I am going to talk to you about today, that I really saw my business start to take off and signed my first coaches.
So how did I get all these people interested in the 7-day challenges? It was as simple as making a fb event and inviting ALL my fb friends. At first I was nervous that I would bug people, but then quickly realized they were appreciative of the monthly invites and joined in when they were ready... btw: I love the maybe’s (people thinking of attending... I count those as Yeses too : )
So STEP 1— the INITIAL INVITE (is my facebook event)
On the invite I just give what the 10-day entails, but I am NOT trying to give them all the information intentionally... I want them to ask questions. I also go in and post in the event regularly so that people see/read the stories of how the 10-days and challenge groups are changes lives.
STEP 2—I contact the Yeses and Maybes and ENGAGE WITH A QUESTION to Establish their WHY
"Hey So and so, thanks so much for asking me about the 10 day Challenge. I am so excited to share with you what it entails, but first I have to ask what makes you want to know more about our challenge? The reason I ask is because the more I know about why you're interested (like types of health/fitness goals) the better I will be able to tell if this is a good fit for you."
They tell me their WHY and that leads me to
STEP 3—Here I Respond super upbeat...
“Wow, So and so! I totally understand! I have no doubt that this Challenge group will help you (reach your goals – your why).” Then I share a story of someone in the same boat or even my own personal experience (not statistics... a story with emotional details). I then ask if they have a certain time limit for reaching their goals??? Another question for them. I always ask a question or even 2 (one might be about something totally off topic like: “btw: I noticed you changed your profile pic... looks like you had a great time on vacation! What was one of your favorite things... we are planning some getaways and would love to hear more!”
They respond and in...
STEP 4—I comment on all of their responses to my questions and then I share the SPECIFIC DETAILS (what they will receive from me from meal plans, to daily motivational emails, packets of shakeology, yummy shake recipes, coaching, fitness tips and more), I explain the COMMITMENTS of 30 min of cardio each day with two days of rest), and finally the EXPECTATIONS I have and what they should have (follow meal plan and water intake suggestions and feel energized, lose weight,) etc. I then ask if they would like me to hold their spot and if they might have a friend or family member that would benefit from this type of program??? And explain they can actually get a better buy if they do it with a friend. I usually throw in a line about being a former middle school math teacher for 11 years and wanting all my friends to get the better buy.
If for some reason there are objections along the way, I simply say, “I don’t know about that, but I do know... and follow with another story and question.” I find that is a kind way of approaching an objection and they feel less attacked. No one wants to deal with a salesman. I always try to keep in the back of my mind my objections, which were really unanswered questions... so that is why I just try to answer them for them with stories.
Start collecting stories if you haven’t already... become a good story teller... nonfiction of course : ) but frilly details don’t hurt anyone
That is basically how I establish the foundation with my clients.
Personally I like all my clients to start with a Shakeology challenge (whether it be 5, 7, 10, or 12 days... we switch things up monthly : ) rather than jumping right into a Challenge pack... reason being, I am able to further establish a friendship/level of trust leading up to the challenge and during the 10 days we work together. Not only do I comment on their daily fb posts in the group, but I also hit up their wall, send them a message, and/or a phone call. I make sure to communicate with each personal individually outside of the group and outside of the daily motivational emails conversations.
However, if someone is itching to get started with a workout program to expedite their transformation, I explain that I will throw in a Shakeology challenge for FREE... everyone loves FREE : )”
A few things you can do to help you advance to Emerald:
-
Host a Shake and Share Party - Coaches who have stepped out of their comfort zone and have tried this have had major success with getting their friends together for an informal gathering and sharing session about Shakeology. If you are in an area with multiple coaches, have everyone over or host one as a team!
-
Run a 7 day challenge or Join your sponsoring coach and run one together - the best way to learn is by doing. Follow the menu. Read the e-mails your coach sends to his/her clients. Share your experience with your potential clients via social media and in person. If you have already done this, i hope you are hosing your own challenge. If you are a bit scared to jump in and hose one, team up with another new coach and do it together! It's all online so you do not need to be in the same area.
-
Review Social Media 101 under the Growing your Business Tab
-
Work with your sponosoring coach on how to construct good follow up emails to your potential customers and coaches. The only way you are going to learn is if you DO THE TRAINING and PARTNER UP with your sponsoring coach or upline diamond to help you write responses to help you figure out the process. If you're looking for some personal development to help you with this head over to Dani Johnson's website: www.danijohnson.com. She has free Monday night calls which are so informational and helpful.

Traci Morrow - A founding Coach who is part of our upline offers her team calls to our team! She provides short and motivational calls either weekly or bi-weekly depending on your rank. If you would like to receive the weekly recordings, email Traci's Assistant, Brittany, at brittany@tracimorrow.com with your rank and your sponsor's name. The calls are 8-12 minutes long.
-
5 or 10 Day challenges. - There is no right or wrong way to run a challenge. Every coach is going to run their challenge differently. You know your customer best. I would definitely say the first one you run will be the most challenging but also so rewarding. Just ask your sponsoring coach and upline Diamond coach lots of questions – we love to help. I still make edits every challenge to make it "better" and I do recommend making your menu and daily motivations a living document as you will learn a lot as you go.
Head to our 10 Day challenge page to learn how to run one.

Fitness Challenge Groups
- Follow Tommy Mygrants 5 step invite guide to help you get started. It works! People will
naturally want to move from the 7 day challenge into FFC/program specific groups. You will find the invite process in the reference material portion of the coach training academy in your online office (video library.)
- Make sure you are in these groups and sharing your fitness journey with us! We are here to support all of your fitness goals.
- If your client buys a challenge and you do not have a group to place them into, you are welcome
to place them into the KnockoutsUNITED Fitness&Nutrition group. Our entire team is there to support you and your
challengers so we can all get them amazing results. This group is also for customers that buy a program without shakeology. Please Note: PROGRAM SPECIFIC GROUPS (Insanity, T25, TurboFire, etc...) are for customers who Purchase Challenge packs (Fitness program + Shakeology) Only! Because they are challenge pack customers and therefore taking "The beachbody challenge" they get the priveledge of joining two groups - Program specific and general accountability group.
- Keep track of your challengers start date, program, and measurements. Just track the weight and waist measurements and let them keep track of the rest.
- Make sure that your challengers are taking pictures at every milestone.
- Find out their why? This is part of the 5 step process. You will want to keep track of their why and refer back to it if needed.
